Aung San Suu Kyi, leader of the Burmese opposition, participated Monday in her first parliamentary session before a crowd of journalists came to attend his debut in the assembly. She had already appeared in parliament in May but only for her swearing in.
“I’ve said, I will do my best,” she said upon entering the parliament, minimizing the role it could play in the debates. Those were the days of education, disability and electricity crucial issue in Burma where 75% of the population do not have regular access.
Obviously not broken parliamentary practices, the Burmese opposition has shown itself responsive to the debate, and appeared several times to ask members of the majority party of the surrounding light on the different procedures.....
